With so many webhosts on the market, why should you choose us? Well to make that choice easier, here are some of the key areas in which we tend to stand out from the crowd.

• We don't limit Features

  Many hosts will place harsh limits on the amount of databases, emails, FTP accounts and domain features you're allowed to have. They may give you only one or two, or maybe a little more, but not enough for you to be comfortable.

  Most hosts usually provide higher numbers of these features on higher plans, causing you to pay more for very simple things as well as extra space and bandwidth you may not need. How ridiculous! That's our standpoint on the subject.

  It is no secret, that it makes no difference whatsoever to a host, whether you have 1 or 10 or 100 of any of these features, and for that exact reason we don't limit how many you're allowed to have, on any pack.

• We have the little things

  Many hosts provide a great stable service like us, but don't have or support the little things. You may be satisfied with their service, but find that they don't have something that you need. It may be a php extension, or an extra server feature which you really like.

  Well we believe that it's the little things which make up life. That's why when you choose us, you can rest assured that we'll have everything and anything you could possibly want.

• We don't harshly limit Server Usage

  We run very powerful servers, and realise that all our customers' needs are different. Someone might run a small community site for their game clan. Another person may run a busy forum with thousands of people. While other hosts usually suspend people who use anything more than 5% of the server resources at any time, we will do no such thing. As long as you aren't using a very significant proportion of the server resources, we will allow you to run a demanding site.

  And of course unlike many others, we don't have restrictions on how often or how many cron jobs you can run. Saying that, some hosts don't allow them at all!

• We run the Latest Stuff

  "Get with the times" - that's our message to many hosts. Liway was one of the first few hosts to run such things as PHP 5, MySQL 5 and cPanel 11. While many hosts run outdated software, which usually have security problems, we are sure to always keep everything we can up to date. In fact we go out of our way to ensure that our users have the best possible versions of software available to them, thus we often run cutting edge development software or apply patches to server software manually to fix bugs quicker than waiting for a "stable" release would be.

• We don't Overprice

  The problem with most hosts is that they are greedy. Microsoft style greedy. They will charge you for this, charge you for that. They will charge you to have your account set up, to have your password reset - even though it takes them 10 seconds, they will charge you for script installation - which we are quite happy to do for free in general, they charge you for "extra supper dooper priority support" - which we believe all customers are entitled to, just because they choose us. Some hosts actually charge separately for cPanel - and even crazier, FTP access.

  Well we are not greedy. We have a passion - a passion to provide you with the best hosting services we possibly can, with the resources at our disposal. We aren't interested in squeezing every last cent from you nor are we interested in getting a quick buck. We will charge you simply what it costs us to provide your service, and that's that.

• We take Security Seriously

  The latest AV software, paranoid firewalls, very secure server settings and thorough logging. We have it all. And even though nothing can make a server 100% invulnerable to hackers, we'd like to think we do all that's possible to make it pretty hard for them!

• We're casual

  Like we say on our front page, we are web developers just like you. We all have our own thing which we're good at, we don't just run this host for no particular reason, it's so that we have somewhere to host all of our stuff - which is another reason we we're so great. Since we are just like you, we know what you want, and make sure that we have it!

  We are happy to chat to you on our forums, relax and crack a joke as well as answer all your questions.

• Our Support is Hard to Beat

  We provide significant amounts of no-extra-charge support to all users. We have two key methods of support, each having their distinct advantages;

  • Our Support Center - Specifically made for paying customers, this is the first stop for all general issues, especially administrative issues. Our admins get notified of all support tickets, and will assist you with your problem quickly.
  • Forums - We have a wonderful and helpful community full of people who can help you wish all sorts of problems, whether they are related to some script or your own development, site reviews, suggestions, PR and SEO and a whole other range of issues. Admins also traverse the forums daily, so all you can get administrative support there as well (however priority admin support is given only through the support center).

• Our Uptime is Great

  We give no formal guarantee on uptime, because we go by a very radical philosophy. While we do everything we can to keep our servers running 24x7, there are some things out of our control - for example, a meteor hitting the datacenter. That's why we think it's just ridiculous to fool our customers into thinking we can magically provide near 100% uptime, when in fact no host can make such a guarantee.

  If the apocalypse doesn't occur though, chances are you won't be complaining. Our uptime stats for 2009 so far are approximately 99.8%.

• We Listen to Our Customers

  So you want an extension installed? Is there a setting you'd like changed? Would you like a feature added? Need something updated?

  We are always glad to do all of these things and more, so long as it doesn't compromise the security of our server.

• No Overselling!

  We don't oversell. Nope, not one bit. When you pay us, those resources are entirely yours. We won't kick you off because you have a lot of family videos uploaded, you won't find that one day you can't upload anything because the server is out of space, your site won't mysteriously exceed it's bandwidth for no reason - and in general, you won't have us breathing down your neck for using your resources to the max. They are your resources after all - you pay for them, and are entitled to use them however you wish!

  Another advantage of no overselling, is that that servers end up with less people on them, meaning everything runs very fast and smooth.
